BowMac.com represents two companies, BowMac Educational Services, Inc. (established 1980) and BowMac Software, Inc. (established 1997), which are dedicated to increased public safety on a national basis. We are comprised of a group of individuals each with between 20 and 40+ years of policing, training and management experience in public safety.
BowMac Educational Services, Inc. delivers high quality training programs to communities in three main areas: Critical Incident Management, Community Policing and Interviewing & Investigative Strategies.
BowMac Educational Services, Inc. has five Simulation-Based Training courses certified by the Homeland Security Department's Office of Domestic Preparedness, rendering them eligible for Federal and State terrorism funding. These courses can be found in the "State Catalog"
https://www.firstrespondertraining.gov/odp%5Fwebforms/ reference numbers NM-001 RESP through NM-005 RESP.
We have provided major "turn key systems" of our Simulation-Based Critical Incident Management Command Post and Initial Response Courses to the States of New Mexico, Connecticut, Wisconsin, Illinois, Massachusetts, as well as the Metro Dade and Savannah Police Departments. We conducted numerous courses with the Panamanian Government Officials and the National Police through the Justice Department post Noriega. Thousands of Police, Fire and EMS Command personnel from hundreds of agencies across the country have benefited from this training. Our focus has always been to build useable skills through innovative simulation and role-play exercises rather than classroom lecture.
BowMac Software, Inc., initially in collaboration with the National League of Cities Risk Information Sharing Consortium, developed an automated and online source for Community Emergency Planning. Our web-based tools are designed to allow the customer to take control of the planning process absent costly consultants. These products represent years of training and consulting with clients in various organizations to make their environments safer. Our REDI™ for Emergencies planning tools have six modules designed to assist: Municipals, School Districts, the Health Sector, Utilities, Colleges, Universities and Business in their National Incident Management System (NIMS) compliance.
As both of our companies grow and evolve, we find a natural interweaving of services emerging. Our Software Planning customers are seeking training that will make their plans more effective, and our training customers realize that the skills and techniques taught need to be reflected in their planning. At the very core of our philosophy is the fundamental belief that integration of disciplines in the planning and training process is what brings about rapid and lasting change. Too long have Police trained with Police, Fire with Fire, EMS with EMS, etc., setting up natural barriers to effectiveness when they are called upon to work, plan and act together.
Long before it was required by NIMS, we were conducting community based, multi-disciplinary, multi- jurisdictional unified command training and planning sessions. In this spirit, we have also assisted communities in planning their POD (Points of Distribution) processes in preparation for a Pandemic using Incident Command functional management principles.
