NEED

BowMac Software Inc. proudly announces the release of the new web-based successor to its popular "REDI™ for School Emergencies" Program.

"REDI™ for School Emergencies II" is designed to bring you into compliance with Homeland Presidential Directive-5 (HSPD-5), which requires K-12 schools to use the National Incident Management System (NIMS) in their planning and response.
View article on day-to-day compliance.

This "Concept of Operations" establishes specific roles for faculty, site based teams and the district administrative teams. Using the required National Incident Management System (NIMS) aids the district in coordinating with local, state and federal public safety agencies during an incident.

This new system is packed with features that make it easy to administrate.

Emergency Operations Plan
The Emergency Operations Plan is your step-by-step response to any event. It consists of six sections:
  1. Introduction
  2. Levels of Threat
  3. General Response Options
  4. Faculty/Staff: Initial Actions and Response
  5. Incident Commander
  6. Incident Management Team

This provides the framework and always keeps you on target. The plan's all-hazards approach gets you moving in the right direction no matter what type of incident is occurring. It then provides a smooth transition to more detailed, incident-specific action plans.

Your plan is uniquely yours! You designate who fills what role. You specify what events constitute a particular level of threat. You establish what steps will be taken to meet each level of threat. You set the response procedures.

Here's an example page from a Emergency Operations Plan.

Action Guides
There are Action Guides produced for each major position in the Incident Command System. Action Guides are a one-page consolidation of the plan which leads district personnel through their roles in a crisis. Besides a general Faculty/Staff guide (shown below), there is a guide for each function of the Incident Command System. When put back-to-back and laminated, the guides are invaluable reference cards.

Here's an example Action Guide.

Database
You're in control. You input names, numbers, procedures and other items used to build a response system that fits your needs.

Control stays at the top. As you set policy, it becomes the response framework at every facility in the district.

Doesn't sacrifice flexibility. Schools and other facilities can customize material to fit their particular needs.

Managing information is easy. All updates filter throughout the software, so you make changes only once.

Training
Training is crucial. If you don't conduct training, it won't matter how good your plans are. Your people may not even know the plans exist, much less how to use them.

REDI™ for School Emergencies™ includes a complete training package. You get everything you need to train faculty/staff and your management teams: lesson plans, student materials, background publications and overheads. Realistic simulations enable you to practice putting the system to work before you need it. These materials are designed to make you self sufficient, enabling you to train whomever and whenever you want.

If you want more, however, we can help. We offer a consulting service, where training is used as a means to help you "do things differently." We can design a global training program with complete learning objectives and performance outcomes. We can also design a specific training curriculum that will help you meet those objectives and outcomes. Last, we can deliver the training itself, both at the skills level and the strategic management level.
