I had to use some of the training today on a call where a guy barricaded himself in his residence with a rifle and wanted to die by suicide by cop. Luckily it all worked out, and all he had was a BB gun with the barrel bored out so the responding officers thought it was a shotgun. Everything ended on a peaceful note with the suspect surrendering and no one was injured. I sat in dispatch the rest of the day saying to myself `that training really paid off '. Thank you again!"
